Programs for people with physical disabilities
provide opportunities for participants to exercise their independence, thereby developing awareness and acceptance within the community. For many, these opportunities represent stepping-stones that have immediate and long-term benefits for active living and self-reliance. Achieving success on the basketball court translates into increased self-confidence, self esteem and independence in their everyday lives off the court as well.
Programs are offered to members and the
community year round. With a higher level of focus
from September to June.
The ANLWBS is synonymous with wheelchair basketball in Alberta. Founded in 1976, this registered non-profit organization continues its pursuit of excellence in the delivery of programs and services.
In addition to offering basketball opportunities,
the ANLWBS has a more global focus of supporting
the development of the whole person.
